What a couple of years these have been! As a psychologist, I should be aware that stress—especially if due to an uncontrolled event, like, for example, a pandemic—can lead people to unusual and sometimes interesting behaviors. My grandmother used to shop for the most useless things (we still have 4 or 5 salad washers/spinners that she bought whence she was sure Italy was going into war 30 years ago)—a friend of mine started to knit cute outfits for her dog. Another one turned her backyard into something so elaborated that the Queen of England would have been impressed. Me? I am stressed—I immerse myself in the magical world of stats and write papers. What you can see below is the result of two very stressful years. Benefits? Well, every single person that worked with me on these papers is an awesome human being (and many of them are our students!)—and working on these papers gave me a great excuse to spend more time with them. (Talking about stats and science, but still…). And some of the research I hope can help to make this world a tiny bit better.
